Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
In leading the Agility in Mind team, Andrew brings focus to the needs of our existing and potential clients and ensures we have our own strategic framework to achieve sustainable, profitable growth. He provides the environment and support our team, as experts in their field, need to deliver the best service possible to our clients. By formulating new propositions, establishing new service lines and securing new clients, Andrew provides leadership from the front.
This is built on a career in technology from software engineer, business management and consulting across all sectors. The greatest reward for Andrew is seeing the efforts of the Agility in Mind team result in competitive advantage for our clients.
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Ed is a leading digital product delivery transformation expert, agile coach, speaker and author who helps organisations improve the way they work by removing the obstacles that get in the way of delivery. He specialises in Lean & agile coaching, training and consulting with a particular emphasis on helping senior teams navigate business change in an effective and sustainable way.
Ed’s hands-on approach brings depth and colour to the practical application of the theoretical, helping organisations, teams and individuals develop the confidence to take ownership of the adoption of new ways of working.
Director of Training
Duncan is our director of training, using his experience as an agile project manager, Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) and scrum master. He has a proven track record for delivering high quality products, using these skills to help others build better products as a consultant, coach and trainer. While working as a project manager his focus was to ensure relevant, valuable products were developed by facilitating decision making at regular intervals.
Now leading the development of Agility in Mind’s training services, Duncan creates and delivers new content, trains our clients across the world, on-site and through the Live Virtual Classroom he introduced and mastered. Along with this, he is one of the most active PST’s in Europe.
Head Agile Coach
Paul is our head agile coach, leading the coaching practice as well as providing hands-on coaching to several of our clients. Paul’s coaching is deep-rooted in his passion as a 2nd Dan black belt martial arts instructor, having discovered the secrets of successful martial arts equally apply to agile teams: focus on the basics; train hard and constantly strive for improvement.
Paul started his career as a software developer in intelligent algorithms to command and control systems. He later worked in various leadership positions from scrum master, software development manager, programme director and further broadened his domain experience in the telecoms and pharmaceutical industries.
Elize van Heerden
Elize is an experienced practitioner, trainer and coach of agile and Lean practices, specialising in Scrum and Kanban. She is particularly adapt at introducing Scrum into organisations, mentoring new cross-functional teams, developing and coaching product owners, scrum masters, tech teams and designers in the art of agile.
As an agile coach, Elize delights in engaging with people and solving problems. As such, she’s become an expert in leading and facilitating change, scaling agile through a resolutely hands–on approach and a repertoire of workshop and facilitation techniques.
As an enthusiastic Agile Coach, Justin has expert business transformation and technology experience across a variety of industry sectors. He has enjoyed a wide range of technology roles, from Software Developer to Head of Engineering – so is well placed to to bring insight from hands-on experience to client organisations. He has a deep interest in the people side of change and thrives on helping people unlock more satisfying ways of working and getting things done.
In a previous life as Chef, he learned that just enough planning, a well organised work area, absolute focus on the job in hand and continuous focus on how to improve served him well – and led to tasty results.
Rob has over ten years’ experience within agile / lean environments as a developer, scrum master, team lead and enterprise agile coach. Skilled in agile methodologies, coaching remote teams, line management of software developers and with a strong technical background, Rob is well placed to coach product teams and individuals to succeed with agile.
Having worked in the financial, manufacturing and engineering sectors, Rob has broad industry experience and enjoys the challenge of discovering, implementing and improving new ways of working. Rob enjoys working with people at all levels of organisations from developers to executive management to maximise organisational agility and help foster a continuous improvement culture.
Brian is an experienced digital portfolio and programme manager and has worked in sports, retail, education and entertainment sectors. A skilled scrum master in his own right, Brian has also recruited, managed and coached teams of scrum masters.
Brian has also introduced Lean and agile approaches, such as Kanban, when managing digital portfolios, improving the visibility and flow of the work. He enjoys working with people to find practical solutions to challenging problems with their delivery of digital products.
Lisa has over 10 year’s experience working as an agile transformation consultant, agile coach and scrum master. Having worked with many different organisations in many sectors, Lisa has a cross-section of experience, engaging business sponsors in their role, working with leadership, finance and budgeting as well as creating and delivering training at all levels of an organisation.
Lisa is people focused and leads by example, bringing focus and enthusiasm to create an environment where teams are empowered and self-organised to deliver customer value in a high-performing environment.
Business Services Director
Michelle was once described as the glue that holds the team together and as such, tries hard to live up to expectations. She enjoys a challenge, helping people, making and consuming gin! With a background in business management and administration, Michelle thrives when very busy in a role that provides a lot of variety, so working at Agility in Mind is perfect for her.
Prior to joining the team, Michelle worked for various sized organisations, spent over a decade in the Education sector and spent a year working in the USA. These varied experiences help Michelle to understand the challenges and complexities any organisation faces when looking to change.
