Back in 2020, Jess Brock, founder of the Agile Curated newsletter got in touch with us to discuss an opportunity to sponsor her new invention, Agile Curated, which has a considerable audience presence in the US. After a short discussion, we thought for Agility in Mind it would be a great opportunity to be involved to gain additional awareness in the US and the chance to collaborate on further projects.
Many people will have seen Jess join us as a guest panellist on one of our FAQs LIVE Special events. Whilst unknown to others she was informed minutes before joining the event that her role within her existing employer was no longer required. However, Jess carried on with the event and delivered a successful session.
Whilst having a retro on the event with our CEO, it was brought to Andrew’s attention the sad news for Jess but how she rallied through. We wanted to send our appreciation to Jess and, whilst doing so, we thought it would be a great opening to talk more about opportunities to join our team. Whilst we already had a presence in the US, with an expanding number of clients, having the right person on board would extend our presence and expand our services to a larger market.
Firstly, we started off discussing if there would be an interest from Jess and what it would look like from Agility in Mind and it was great to find out that Jess was interested in joining. Following our standard recruitment process, we invited Jess to get to know us and our team in more depth and for us to get to know Jess so we would both mutually decide this would be the right path to take.
After we knew we had the right person for the job, we offered Jess a full-time position and we are thrilled to announce Jess Brock is now a member of our team and is Vice President of Consulting for the newly formed US business.
Without Jess getting in touch with us about sponsoring Agile Curated and starting that initial conversation we wouldn’t have come across this great opportunity. Getting “out” and talking to people can open doors and we are excited for this new prospect.
