The culmination of three years of hard work by a group of media students from Greenwich University was the screening of their films at a private cinema in the heart of Leicester Square.
Over the past twelve months, Agility in Mind has sponsored the group known as Kranky Produktions for their creation of The Marvellous Adaptation. Made up of two contrasting styles, two short films named George and Medicine are adaptations of Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine.
The first tale is driven from the original storyline and is family-orientated. The second tale follows a darker and complex storyline; a distinct direction from the original. The overall production examines the possibilities of adaptation in different genres and how a narrative can be interpreted in dissimilar ways
In order to complete the production the team had to raise finance and manage their spend. Agility in Mind was pleased to help through sponsorship, which enable the crew to hire a venue for shooting, pay actors’ expenses, hire equipment, produce publicity material and produce DVDs.
It was also our pleasure to approach our client, Global Radio, to arrange for their cinema at the Capital Radio building in Leicester Square to be used for the screening. The team were so delighted with the venue and we remain very grateful to Global Radio.
It was impressive to see the productions created by the Kranky students, they have clearly learned a vast amount about producing film and the hard work and attention to detail required behind the scenes to achieve a quality production.
