We deliver live online courses, both public (open to anyone to attend) and privately on a date and time arranged at your convenience. They are designed to allow remote or offshore teams to be trained simultaneously, often dispersed geographically or co-located but dispersed over a large campus.
Benefits of live online training include:
- Convenient – courses are delivered anytime, anywhere.
- Cost-effective – eliminates travel and accommodation costs.
- Team collaboration – dispersed teams can interact with one another in a group environment, discussing real world organisational examples and challenges.
With our approach to live online training, we seek to combine the technical possibilities of working online with the personal connections established in face-to-face training. All of our courses put a strong emphasis on group activities, whether building real class projects or participating in group exercises. Here are some examples:
Building a class project: Putting Scrum into Action
Teams work together to build a real website using a Scrum simulation to plan and review their work. Breakout rooms are combined with realtime whiteboards to create a collaborative experience. Teams are able to share their screens to present their work back to the class.
Developing scrum master skills: Effective Scrum Master
Provides the knowledge, tools and confidence to help scrum masters and scrum teams achieve more effective delivery. This course covers the fundamentals of Scrum, including the framework, events and roles and shows how Scrum can be used to increase the value of software products and how people work together collaboratively to achieve this.
Remote group analysis: Behaviour Driven Development
Teams work through a scenario to describe the intended functionality of new features, working in small groups with shared screens in a breakout session. This is relatively tool-agnostic, meaning that delegates may use whatever tools they currently use and then discuss the merits or issues as they feedback to the class.
Learning to use an online tool: Introduction to JIRA
Distributed teams working across different locations and timezones often rely on tools such as JIRA to co-ordinate their work. In our online JIRA training courses, teams learn by doing in exactly the same environment they will using after the course.
Class interaction and discussion (all courses)
All of our courses feature a mixture of the group exercises above, plus whole-class discussion. These interactions are supported by
- Realtime “yes / no” questions for the whole group, followed up with individual discussions from each side of the argument
- Live illustrations of course topics as well as responses to delegate questions – just like a whiteboard in a face-to-face class
- Full communications control for all delegates, allowing questions to be asked over voice or chat
Online training courses may be delivered in a number of formats to meet your specific needs. Examples of previous client solutions include:
Training is delivered from our studio and each delegate connects separately from their own computer. Good for teams spread around the world, or for large organisations where delegates attending are from different teams.
Remote training to a whole group
Training is delivered from our studio to a group of people in the same physical location. Good for teams that want to stay face-to-face, but where there is a lack of local availability for the specialist training topic required.
Face-to-Face / Web Conference Hybrid
Training is delivered from your site with some of the delegates in the same physical space, and additional delegates joining via web conference. Good for teams split across two or more locations, where some people would otherwise miss out on a face-to-face course.
