The Live Virtual Classroom was easy to use and has a lot of fun functionality to make the course interesting and interactive for participants
The trainer delivered a 2-day-long Professional Scrum Product Owner course as a live virtual class to me and a group of colleagues and he did an absolutely amazing job. The course was full of great, eye-opening thoughts that put a lot of things in perspective and a lot of great practices that are actually useful in our day-to-da…
We had a lot of open discussions and had great, interactive group activities. The trainer not only managed to deliver in a virtual environment but actually took it to the next level, like using a graphic tablet to underline or circle in key phrases on a slide live. Seems like a small thing, but it actually gives a lot of value
Everything was good, she has organized everything and the session was consist of good materials, slides and team working tools which kept us focused on the session. Her communication is excellent and had a good presentation and good delivery. I learnt alot and enjoyed this traninng, Thank you!
it is my first online class, but the tool like Mural is very helpful for team discussion, very effective as online class
Well paced and good timings. Good, clear delivery from the trainer with a good use of tools and slides available. Core content covered well and good linkage with our organisation/field of work

The course will allow delegates to develop a comprehensive understanding of a team of teams in SAFe®, called an agile release train, and how it delivers value to the organisation. The delegates will learn how to break down features into user stories, make continuous improvements, plan programme increments, and learn about DevOps and continuous delivery.
This Scaled Agile Framework® certified class prepares the delegates to take the associated exam and become a SAFe® 5 Practitioner (SP). At the end of the course, delegates will be sent the materials necessary to take the online exam, including copies of the slides, a study guide and access to the practice exam.
This training course is designed so that delegates will be able to:
- Understand how their team works as part of an agile release train.
- Understand all the other teams in the agile release train.
- Apply SAFe® to manage dependencies between teams.
- Plan programme increments as part of the programme increment planning event.
- Understand the value of regularly integrating their work with other teams in the agile release train.
Audience, pre-requisites and assumed knowledge
There are no specific pre-requisites for this course. Those intending on taking the SAFe® 5 Practitioner exam will benefit from having some experience working with agile concepts and principles, some awareness of Scrum, kanban and XP, and software engineering processes.
- This course is designed for all members of an agile release train, including all development/agile team members.
When delivered as a private class, the course may be adjusted to spend more time on the topics most relevant to the organisation, whilst still covering the overall syllabus.
This lesson covers the benefits of using SAFe®, the five core competencies of the lean enterprise, and the four possible configurations of SAFe®. It then covers the lean mindset, the agile manifesto, and the SAFe® values and principles most relevant to the teams.
Building an Agile Team
Delegates will be introduced to cross-functional, feature and component teams before taking a deeper dive into the scrum master and product owner roles within an agile team. Delegates will then learn about the other roles in an agile release train, such as the release train engineer.
Planning the iteration
This lesson discusses the steps and techniques to get the items on the team’s backlog ready for iteration planning. This include splitting larger items into user stories, how to write good stories with acceptance criteria, and considerations when sequencing the stories.
The lesson then steps through the iteration planning event in SAFe® including establishing capacity; discussing and detailing stories; adding estimates if required; developing and committing to iteration goals.
Executing the iteration
This lesson covers visualising and measuring the flow of work done by the team. It covers how to build in quality and then covers continuous integration and deployment. It discusses demonstrating the value added by the team and look at how the team can generate ideas for improvements.
Executing the Programme Increment (PI)
In this lesson there is a simulation of a PI planning event; giving a flavour of how this key event works and its associated outputs. It then steps through the programme level events and concludes by discussing the Innovation and Planning (IP) iteration, where the current programme increment is reviewed and the next one is planned.
Becoming a SAFe® Practitioner
The final lesson covers the SAFe® community platform, how it is accessed and how to prepare for the SAFe® 5 Practitioner examination.
SAFe® for Teams Course Outcomes
Delegates will leave with a comprehensive understanding of their role in a team that is working with the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®). They will understand the team and programme events and how to deliver value to the organisation. They will also become eligible to sit the SAFe® 5 Practitioner examination.
We can offer SAFe for Teams as a private Live Virtual Classroom for distributed teams. For more information on what we can do for you and your organisation, please enquire.
